Electrical leak location Services 

The electrical leak location method is a powerful tool used to detect electrical paths through leaks in a geomembrane liner. A voltage is applied to an electrode placed in the soil or water covering the liner and to an electrode placed in the leak detection zone for double-lined systems or connected to earth ground for single-lined systems. Because the geomembrane liner is an electrical insulator, current will flow only through leaks in the liner. This current produces localized anomalous areas of high current density near the leaks. Bare Line Survey

 The total combined area surveyed for this project was approximately 12,880,000 square feet.  The area was lined with a single smooth 60 mil HDPE geomembrane over a prepared subgrade.Any located leaks were marked, repaired and retested to verify no further damage was present.  Due to the large size of the project two water trucks were used to move the project forward more efficiently.  Approximately 9 acres were leak tested each day.
